We are going to do some research on the websites of three schools that are part of your life as a university student under the International College. The first one is your very own university, Tianjin University of Science and Technology, or TUST. The second one is QIBA, or Queensland International Business Academy, which works with TUST to provide you with English language courses for your freshman year. The third one is SCU, or the Southern Cross University. SCU is the Australian university from which you will be studying English business courses during your second and third year at TUST.
We will find out more about these schools by checking their official websites and answering the questions listed below. There are four questions for each school. Click on the links below to take you to the university websites:
Before you start reading the questions, please have a look at the useful tips below about searching for information in a website:
1. Read the main page and find the appropriate headings for the information you need. Carefully browse the headings and links you find in the other web pages.
2. Read the text purposefully. Scan and skim. Remember that every paragraph has a central idea, and most of the time you will find this on the first sentence of the paragraph.
3. Use the search field in the website. From the question, choose the correct keywords to type in the search box. Keywords are important words that contain the main topic of the information you need to find. If the information does not show after you typed out some keywords, try to vary the keywords with different combinations or by using synonyms.
